From detention to relationship: an architecture experiment in the prison of Bollate, Milan
The project examines the
connection between spatial form and nature of relationships in the
Milano-Bollate prison. Both architecture design students and detainees are
involved in the ideation of proposals for reorganizing interior living spaces
and identifying places in which prison inmates and the city could meet. The
outcome is a design exercise applied to the compound itself, including the
construction of a small wooden structure devoted to private visits.
